All About Layering 2

All About Layering 2

  • Post category:AECP / English

My card today was inspired by the AECP course All About Layering 2.

I’ve used the Garden Hydrangea Stamp Set and Shades of Purple Mini Cube Set.

This card is about color matching and maximizing the use of ink pads. I used Altenew’s stamps and ink to create the flower, and then I realized I wanted more color on the card.
I stamped the text in the darkest color I’ve used in the flower itself, to connect them together as opposed to creating contrast. I framed the card with matting I created with white paper and the same ink pad – I just applied the pad directly to the paper.

My tips for today:

  • The text on the card can be stamped in the same color where as the main element, to connect and highlight the card theme.
  • The letters are thick and you feel that something is missing? With a white or black pen you can create a highlight on one side to give the letters a little more volume.
  • Matching matting can be easily created with white paper that is colored with an ink pad, a Zig pen or copic, and even with watercolors.
