This card was created inspired by AECP course All About Layering 1.
I chose the beautiful Layered Lily Stamp Set.
On this card, I used a technique that is perfect for anyone who likes layering stamps but does not want to invest in many shades of ink or has difficulty matching the colors. On this card, I only used three ink pads – pink, green and black. That’s it!
I basically chose bright shades and stamped all the layers in the same shade. The result is a subtle transition between colors, sometimes not even noticeable, but subtle and elegant.
Some tips used on this card:
- Stamping layers – you can use only one ink shade!
- Highlights like stripes or crosses – no stamps needed! I used a ruler and a black pen.
- Focal Point – Create a focal point on the card and place the other elements relative to it. I created the focus by placing the flower near the intersection of the lines, and scattered the sequins so as not to draw attention. I balanced the lower corner with a partial flower in the upper corner.
I hope this post has inspired you to use your inks in a new way!
Very clever! Love the colours and the layout too. Well written post!
