Masking Unleashed

Masking Unleashed

Today’s card is inspired by AECP course Masking Unleashed.

This course has some clever ideas and tips about using masking in your project.

I this card I did double masking:

First, I’ve stamped this gorgeous flower from the Darling Rose Stamp Set and masked it to stamp the leaves. I masked them too, and then masked stripes with washi tape and added pink ink.

I’ve heat embossed a nice sentiment from the same set in gold. After that, the card looked a bit too “clean”, so I sparkled gold embossing powder randomly on the card to give it some texture and interest.

Some tips for this card:

  • Heat embossing powder can be used in free-form and not only with stamps!
  • When you want your stamps to overlap, like the flower and the leaves, start with the front most element, and work your way to the elements in the back.
  • Does you cutting mat or working surface has a grid? you can use this with washi tape to get a perfectly straight masking with even spacing!

That is all for today. see you next card!
