Creative Watercolor Media

Today’s card is inspired by AECP course Creative Watercolor Media.

Even though I have watercolors, I nearly neve use them. I love the watercolor effect but I never seem to get it “right”. This time I’ve used Altenew’s Coffee Break Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set in a perfect match with the Coffee Ring Stamp Set to create this fun shaker card!
I’ve put some ink from the cubes on a crafting mat, add a bit of water, and placed the cardstock directly on it for a “spilled” effect. I then stamped the ring with the same inks.

Some tips for this card:

– With some colors, you have to use paper that will dry fast and won’t soak the water. When I used watercolor paper, the brown seperated into reds, yellows and greens – not so preety!
– Some shaker fills are too thick – double the foam so they won’t get stuck or warp your acetate.
– I love shaker cards with special shapes, but sometimes they are too complex. You can “cheat” by closing the foam in a simple shape and get the shape only with your cardstock. In this card, I taped the handle’s hole on the acetate and didn’t bother to create it with foam.

Thank you for reading, and see you next card!
