Impressive Heat Embossing

Impressive Heat Embossing

  • Post category:AECP / English

Today’s card is inspired by AECP course Impressive Heat Embossing.

This course teaches more embossing techniques and options.

I combined two things I’ve learned in this course: using clear embossing powder on dark cardstock, and layering embossing powders.

I’ve used the Sweet Spring Stencil, which is a layering stencil, and embossed the first layer in clear embossing powder on black cardstock. I was really surprised at the color difference. I’ve then embossed the second layer and the sentiment from the Painted Greetings Stamp Set in silver embossing powder.

Some tips for this card:

  • Always prep your paper with anti-static powder – or you’ll end up with embossing powder in unwanted places.
  • working with stencil is not like working with masking paper – it is thicker and the more delicate parts to move. Keep that in mind when using embossing ink and always pat the ink and dont try to “blend” it.
  • Don’t have the perfect matting? you can emboss the edges of a piece of paper for a prefect match.

That is all for today. see you next card!
