Easy Die Cutting Techniques

Easy Die Cutting Techniques

Today’s card is inspired by AECP course Easy Die Cutting Techniques.

First, a confession: I don’t have a die-cut machine. I have an electronic cutting machine (Cricut) which I love. But sometimes I envy the beautiful designs that are only available as dies. Erum, I know you read this! Please tell the guys at Altenew HQ  That I’m first in line to buy Altenew’s svg cut files! 🙂

As for the card: Although I don’t have dies, I completed the course and tried to learn which techniques can be done with electronic cutting machine, and there are a lot of similarities. I’ve incorporated two of these in this card: inlaid die-cutting and stacking.

First, I stamped the beautiful Watercolor Halftone Stamp Set with several inks: pool at the edges, dark blue in the center and more shades in between. Using my Cricut, I’ve cut the sentiment and wreath at the center. I’ve glued back to place the wreath to get the inlaid effect. Then I’ve cut the sentiment again several times from a dark cardstock and stacked the letters. It gives such a cool, raised look.

That’s my card for today. see you next card!

Only because you dont have a die-cutting machine, otherwise I would have urged you to use any die you have to make a project for this course. But I see you have used the stamps beautifully to your advantage.
Thank you for entering your beautiful work to the AECP assignment gallery.
